Individual Factors Underlying Suicidal Behaviors in Patients with Borderline Personality Disorder: A Qualitative Study

Background: Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is associated with a high risk of suicide. Limited information available on the individual factors underlying suicidal behaviors, especially suicide attempts (SAs), in Iranian patients BPD. Objectives: This study aimed to analyze behaviors Methods: was qualitative descriptive that conducted from May 2020 February 2021 Tehran and Karaj, Iran, 23 participants, including 14 BPD seven mental health professionals, as well two members their families. The research environment included psychiatric inpatient wards, emergencies, clinics. Participants were selected through purposive sampling. Data collected using semi-structured interviews analyzed conventional content analysis.
